Course Overview
A&B Rail Services Ltd. is committed to helping you meet your training needs. For updating the Operating Manual we offer:
- Operating Manual – 1 day: This course has a theory component which covers all applicable rules and instructions for being compliant as a Canadian Railway Operating Rules qualified employee working in and around the railway in regards to the Operating Manual. The bulk of the day is spent working through all the most current operating bulletins and summary bulletins. We will cover the minimum requirements and talk about best practices to help everyone from the newest employee to most senior employee to be up to date and compliant for the field. This course is designed around 8 hours a day which includes breaks.

After successful completion of either of these courses, you will receive a certificate of training.
The Operating Manual Course is recommended for:
Any Employee engaged in any operation or supervision of movements. An Employee is defined in the Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) as A person qualified to regulatory and company standards employed by the company. Applies to contract employees and employees of other companies and railways operating and/or performing other rules-related duties on the host railway trackage (CROR ‐ October 28, 2021 pg.14)
As part of the Operating Manual Training, you will be required to:
- Read and acknowledge the terms and conditions.
- Attend the registered training session.
- Actively participate during the training session.
- Complete a Knowledge Assessment at the end of the course days.
