Course Overview
A&B Rail Services Ltd. is committed to helping you meet your training needs. For Safe Handling of Track Units, we have different course options:
- Track Unit Operation – 1 day: This course has a theory component which covers all applicable rules and instructions for operating a track unit safely and an overview of a hi-rail pick-up truck. This course is designed around 8 hours a day which includes breaks.
- Track Unit Operation – 2 day: Day one is a theory component which covers all applicable rules and instructions for operating a track unit safely and an overview of a hi-rail pick-up truck. Day two is a in-field session applying all concepts learned in day one practically in a field application. This course is designed around 8 hours each day which includes breaks.
- Custom Option – the above does not fit your training needs? Contact us with your specific request and we will work on custom options for you.
After successful completion of either of these courses, you will receive a certificate of training.
The Track Unit Operation Course is recommended for:
Those engaged in any track unit operation on railway tracks in Canada. A TRACK UNIT (TU) is defined in the Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) as a vehicle or machine capable of on-track operation utilized for track inspection, track work, and other railway activities when on a track (Canadian Rail Operating Rules, 2022, p. 14).
As part of the Track Unit Operation Training, you will be required to:
- Read and acknowledge the terms and conditions.
- Attend the registered training session.
- Actively participate during the training session.
- Complete a Knowledge Assessment at the end of the course days.
